Bad Luck!
Ok enough bad luck! This all started for us, mainly Ray, last year. The first thing was an eye stroke that for all intents and purposes blinded his left eye. Everything is so distorted through it now. Two trips to the ER that resulted in staying in the hospital for several days each time, got fired, found out he was diabetic, had a hearing about his job and finally a small amount of good luck. The key word here is small. He got a job back but not the one he had or as much money as he made before. But at least he's happy on this job.
Then yesterday more bad luck for poor Ray. He went to the dentist to have a regular tooth extraction which turned out the be a trip to hell! The first dentist worked for almost two hours and couldn't get the tooth out. It splintered and broke on him so he called a surgeon at Charleston Area Hospitals and sent Ray up there. (I drove him). It took them almost 30 minutes but they finally got the tooth out. The first dentist didn't charge us because he couldn't finish the job. Then he phoned today to see how Ray was doing. The doctor called himself! He wants to see Ray again on Monday just to make sure he's doing ok, again at no charge. Now that impressed the heck out of us. Cindy, you picked a good one!
The surgeon was quite expensive but not quite as bad as we thought it would be. No dental insurance so the money factor worried us.
Ray is still having some pain and is swollen quite a bit. Not much bruising so that's good. He's staying on a soft diet for a couple days and then hopefully he'll feel like eating Easter dinner. Cindy and Chris are cooking a ham and turkey, the rest of us will be taking different dishes to make up a great meal.
Maddie is the only one of the kids old enough to realize what Easter is all about but still young enough to be excited about the Easter bunny. Isaac and Noah will be lots of fun this year. I hope the weather holds so we can get them outside for an egg hunt. Sophia will be fun and enjoy herself just because. This should be a good weekend. And best of all is that my baby will be home for the celebration!! It's been 10 weeks since she's been here so we're all anxious to see her.
Until next time--------------
